Home Planet Kom Teppe

What does life on earth nowadays mean in terms of place, space & interaction? What exactly moves its inhabitants and why? What kind of stories can be told, imagined and invented? – We, the Returners from the planet Isona, are curious to find out!

Therefore we are going to travel to Oslo to get to know the city and its inhabitants. As you can imagine, we have a lot of questions! On our mission we are going to bring kom:teppe, which we would like to introduce: it is a mobile carpet used to explore space and to discover various, for us unknown layers of new places.

On Isona kom:teppe is our research tool to practice and explore new situations by spending time and hence become aware of each other. This main goal is achieved through the Isonian-tea ritual. So watch out for our travelling carpet - you are very warmly invited to join us - let‘s have a cup of tea together and create a bond between our cultures!

kom:teppe is a recurring chamber event taking place in the streets of Oslo during the performance and living installation Home Planet, providing a semi-scheduled meeting between the People of Earth and the travellers from the planet of Isona. The travellers from Isona are played by a group of people who are participating in the full performance, living in a building in the centre of Oslo four days in October, exploring the city and culture of Oslo.

Participation does not require any preparation, and you will learn everything you need to know in order to participate after arriving on the location. You don’t have to perform in front of an audience, but you (and other participants) are an integral part of the chamber event and will be asked to embody yourself, a person from the Earth.

The creators behind kom:teppe is Janna Nikoleit and Jana Beckmann.

You do not have to buy tickets to this event. But remember to dress warm, to ensure that you are able to sit on an outdoor carpet! kom:teppe will take place outdoors, in the centre of Oslo. Relevant addresses will be published soon, stay tuned on Facebook.

The event might be photographed/filmed for public use.
