Home Planet Welcome Home

Have dinner with an alien!

The Isonians are humans who left our Earth 60 years ago for another planet, and now they’re back among us. Learn about Isona, their adoptive planet, and help them reintegrate into our society by opening your home for a meal.

Take part in the fiction of Home Planet by welcoming a performer to your house for a semi-scripted dinner, and explore the idea of cultural exchange. There’s no need for a complex and three course dinner, what matters the most is the exchange itself. Your visitor(s) are Isonians – the alien – and you will play the part of yourself, a person of the Earth. This won’t be a show for you to spectate, but a true encounter, where you will be engaged and active.

Don’t worry, though, you won’t be thrown into the dark: we will provide you with all the support you need to go through the experience.

Should you be willing to join the adventure, we will make our best to ensure you a safe and pleasant experience, that accommodates your needs and concerns.

The dinner will happen on October 19th, between approximately 6 p.m and 8 p.m. Sign up deadline: the 14th of October at 22.00. Sign-up here.

After signing up, an organizer will offer to briefly contact you, over phone or video chat, in order to help you understand the fiction, the context, and clear up some questions you could have.

Welcome Home is a chamber event taking place during the performance and living installation Home Planet, providing a scheduled meeting between the People of Earth and the travellers from the planet of Isona. The travellers from Isona are played by a group of people who are participating in the full performance, living in a building in the centre of Oslo four days in October, exploring the city and culture of Oslo. Buying a ticket for the chamber event Welcome Home will also give you the opportunity to visit the Isonian’s base location.

In Welcome Home, you will be the host of the main event: it all happens in your home. Participation may require preparation, and you will learn everything you need to know in order to participate when you have signed up. You don’t have to perform in front of an audience, but you (and other participants) are an integral part of the chamber event and will be asked to embody yourself, a person from the Earth.
