Experimenting Borders, a debate about "Borders and their limits"

20. September

17:30 – 19:00

Intercultural Museum

Address: Tøyenbekken 5, Oslo

In cooperation with the Interkulturelt Museum of Oslo, we will organize a talk about borders and their limits, the fourth debate of the 2016 cycle of conferences on the theme of Borders. Marianne Amar will be asked to tackle the question “How to live in exile?”, while Yvan Gastaut will reflect upon crossing borders. Philippe Rekacewicz will moderate the debate. After this discussion the audience will be invited to attend the itinerary exhibition related to the same topic, in cooperation with the Musée National de l'histoire de l’Immigration (Paris). This will enable the public to discover what the work of the Musée National de l’Immigration is about, through an insight of some of its most specifics approaches of heritage and collections (contemporary art, “Galerie des dons”, etc.). This international cooperation between the two museums is also a way of reflecting upon one of the major contemporary issues, in the wake of the project led by the 2016 Oslo Architecture Triennale “After Belonging”.

17:30 - 19:00 : Debate

19:00 : Official opening of the exhibition "Borders and their limits"
