Mandaworks is a part of the exhibition Mission Neighbourhood – (Re)forming communities with the project Threads of Life: The Spaces in Between.
The City of Reykjavik has high social and ecological ambitions for the development of New Skerjafjörður, a neighbourhood to be built on former airport grounds. Swedish cross-disciplinary practice Mandaworks was commissioned to translate the city’s ambitions into a set of principles and guidelines for streets and public spaces. The short film, Threads of Life: the Spaces in Between, explores the philosophy and results of this project.
Mandaworks is engaged in the fields of landscape architecture, urban design and comprehensive planning. Based in Stockholm and founded in 2010 they have since grown and now operate also from Shanghai and Montreal. The multidisciplinary team spans 13 nationalities and a mix of professional an educational backgrounds complemented with a growing network of collaborators across Europe, Asia and North America.
