The Tøyen Housing Conference is a yearly event focusing on citizen and neighbourhood driven housing developments. The Tøyen Housing Federation has mapped pilot opportunities for a third housing sector in the borough of Gamle Oslo. An approach based on housing needs and neighbourhoods opens up for other perspectives than ordinary commercial housing.
Four land lots have been through extensive studies and thorough analysis, among them the Oslo Prison, which is on the move, and Grønlikaia, the last big development scheme taking place on the east side of inner Oslo Fjord. The housing federation has identified potensial opportunities for the different lots, including self built projects and solutions for social mobility, culture house, community centre and social housing.
The different proposals will be presented at the conference, inviting citizens, politicians and other professionals to the discussion. The mapping and the projects are made in collaboration with Asplan Viak, A-Lab, Dark arkitekter and Nedenfra Ideelt AS.
Sign up to the event through Tøyen housing federation's social media (Tøyen boligbyggelag).
